PILLAR THREE - SPEED AND AGILITY

There’s someone with a hood on running towards your wife in the supermarket. God willing the worse he does is steal her handbag, but imagine he grabs her, or Heaven forbid one of your kids. You’re not going to stand there and watch, or chase after them but are too slow to get there on time. No. You’re moving before he can even react, closing the distance. Take him out by whatever means necessary.

Or you can be running to get help, rescue someone in a dangerous position, someone is drowning. Maybe you just have to beat your mates in a race!

But it’s not just laterally that we have to move. We often have to pull ourselves or other people up - physically. Check out this legend from Paris who has to climb the side of a building to rescue a child. You should be able to do pullups, and be able to climb things. Grip strength is key, and you can build that through some strength training.

Whatever the case we have to be able to move and move quickly. Response time in all situations is key, so don’t let that be the reason for an accident that could have been prevented.

You should be able to move your bodyweight deftly and quickly across all obstacles.
